Round ten of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship showed promised but ended in disappointment for Panasonic Jaguar at the 2019 BMW i Berlin E-Prix presented by CBMM Niobium. The penultimate round of the European races took place on a challenging concrete track renowned for being tough on brakes and tyres.
After having previously topped the time sheets in FP1, Evans had to contend with a race-long midfield battle after qualifying P18. Mitch showed impressive race craft in the middle of the field despite a damaged front wing, moving up six places by the chequered flag. The Kiwi continues his streak of completing every race this season.
"Obviously it’s disappointing to not be in the points. Trying to work our way through the middle of the field wasn’t easy – we made up six places, but it wasn’t enough in the end. There’s a lot we can learn from this race and I’m happy with how quick the car was in Free Practice. We’ll be doing all we can to get back into the points in Bern." Mitch Evans
